The Sheriff's Command

Walking through the woods as if pulled by some invisible hand, feeling the earth beneath her feet wondering if she was dreaming or awake. Moonlight poured down from the darkened sky illuminating everything in its path. Clad only in her silk nightgown the slight breeze whispering over her body caused her to tremble. She couldn't turn back, she needed to follow this path needed to find out what waited at the end, somehow she new it would change her life forever.

As the woods opened up into a clearing she gasped seeing the incredible ancient ruins before her. They were magnificent seeming to echo a different place and time and her heart was filled with excitement over the discovery. She walked inside the old castle and sat down on a large slab that had fallen probably centuries ago.

As she sat down she closed her eyes allowing herself to memorize every detail she had seen of these ruins, thinking how she would restore these at some point. His image came into her mind without warning and she whispered softly, “Eric”. It was no surprise he found her way into her thoughts, he seemed to integrate every minute of her life these days filling her dreams and thinking about him all day while she was awake.

She had feasted on his blood, taking his very essence deep into her soul like a lovers kiss. He was like an intoxicating aphrodisiac, she drank him in like wine with her heart, soul, body and mind in every fantasy she had. Her daylight hours were filled with such deep frustration, she never wanted to open her eyes. He had claimed her by sinking his fangs into her willing flesh, but he had never claimed her innocence, leaving her longing for the touch he refused to give her.

She embraced her dreams where he would claim all of her for his own. Her heart ached with a longing she could not yet understand. Her body trembled for the imaginary lover he had become. Her soul drifting between the light of her innocence and the desire to be seduced into the darkness of the world in which he lived.

Reality and fantasy blended together in the madness he had created for her. His voice called out her name, the seductive yet mocking tone bringing him into her sight. Unable to look away her eyes filling with desire and a trace of fear. She never knew what would happen in the fantasies, every discovery haunting her until she felt possessed.

“Speak my name again, Cara,” he taunted her, a pleased gleam finding his icy blue eyes. Wanting to deny his request, biting her lip to stop his name from falling from her lips. The laugh he gave was not jovial, it resonated confidence in the control he had over her. With a smirk, he turned to walk away from her. He had only moved a few steps when she conceded. “Eric, please,” her voice pleading with him not to leave.

He stood completely still for agonizing moments and she felt the tears slide down her cheeks. If he walked away, she knew it would destroy her, leaving nothing behind but an emptiness she would never recover from. “Eric, I beg you,” walking over to him falling to her knees holding his leg. Her tears glistened in the moonlight as the ache of abandonment poured through every fiber of her being.

He allowed his hand to caress the top of her head as she clung to him desperately. For long moments he allowed her the torment, knowing every tear she cried pulled her further into his will. He bent down and lifted her to her feet, holding her up because she was shaking so badly, he knew his hands were all that kept her standing.

His chin rested on top of her head for long moments, soaking in her emotions, allowing them to move through him with pleasure. “All you try to keep from me, I will demand from you,” his voice spoked into her ear causing her to shiver. “Your blood,” his lips found her neck and nipped gently causing her to cry out softly.

“Your heart,” his hand fell between her breasts feeling the racing heart beat, she whimpered. “Your mind,” speaking with no words telling her that he could demand anything and she would comply, she caught her breath. Pulling her chin up roughly, forcing her to look into his cold blue eyes, “If it pleases me, Cara, and only if,” he whispered with a mocking grin, “perhaps I will take your body as well." She fainted.

He picked her up with, what for him, was considered gentleness. Lifting her up as a child and soaring with her back to her bedroom. Laying her still body down on the bench, he stared down at her for long moments, considering her fate. She was a vision of innocent beauty and all of her was his to take. Her blood called to him, her innocence teased him to devour it, she was his complete opposite. A smile found his face as she whispered his name in her sleep.

He reached out his hand and allowed his finger to caress her cheek for a few moments, knowing she would think it to be part of the dream. His lips found her forehead placing a soft kiss there before he stood. “Soon, Cara,” his voice whispered for the first time true tenderness finding the words, “I will consume you.” He left those words to roam through her mind and saw her body tense in her sleep.

Without a word he went back to the window and took off into the night sky. Some small part of him that had seemed lost to him until recently feeling a twinge of regret for what he was doing to the girl. As soon as it found him he brushed it away. She was a human and her only use was his pleasure, but even as he thought it, somehow it didn't seem to sit well with him. He walked into the night looking for something to devour and take his mind off the girl he'd left yet again.
